The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with MACH (Microservices-based, API-first, Cloud-native, and Headless) architecture and the ability to define roadmaps and guide cross-functional teams through this complex migration process. This is a key leadership role that combines technical expertise with strategic vision and a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes such as scalability, reduced time-to-market, and enhanced customer experiences.

This role will require close collaboration with technical architects and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition to composable commerce.

Requirements

  1. Technical Expertise:
    • Deep understanding of composable commerce and MACH architecture principles.
    • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including cloud infrastructure, networking, and managed services for scalable e-commerce solutions.
    • Extensive experience with SAP Hybris and its migration to modern e-commerce platforms.
    • Proficiency in designing microservices architectures and implementing API-first strategies.
    • Knowledge of cloud-native solutions, headless commerce technologies, and containerization tools like Kubernetes or Docker.
  2. Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years in e-commerce architecture roles.
    • Proven track record of successful migrations from monolithic to composable commerce platforms.
    • Familiarity with leading composable commerce platforms (e.g., commercetools, Elastic Path, BigCommerce).
  3. Analytical and Strategic Thinking:
    • Ability to analyze complex systems and propose practical, innovative solutions.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering measurable business value.
  4. Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Strong mentoring abilities to support mid-level architects and engineers.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  5. Soft Skills:
    • Strong collaboration and team-building abilities.
    • Fluent in written and spoken English (B2+ level).

Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Planning and Roadmap Development:
    • Design and develop a comprehensive roadmap for migrating from SAP Hybris to a composable commerce solution.
    • Identify and evaluate potential risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities in the migration process.
    • Define the scope, timeline, and milestones for the transition.
  2. Architecture Design:
    • Develop a robust architecture blueprint that adheres to MACH principles.
    • Ensure scalability, security, and reliability of the new composable commerce ecosystem.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to align architecture decisions with business objectives.
  3. Technical Leadership:
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to development and engineering teams during implementation.
    • Oversee integration of microservices, APIs, and headless components into the new ecosystem.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and organizational goals.
  4. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as a liaison between business leaders, technical teams, and external vendors.
    • Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather requirements and share progress updates.
    • Work closely with technical architects and other stakeholders to align technical strategy and execution.
    • Manage resistance to change and build consensus across teams.
  5. Continuous Improvement:
    • Advocate for the adoption of modern tools and practices to optimize workflows.
